Moving Along

Well, Annual Conference is now behind us, and we are a little more than halfway through our second "mission" at camp. We're excited that this is our first full week of crew. (Can it really be possible this is only the first week?

Let's back up a little though, and I can fill you in on some of what happened from Conference on.

This year, Conference was shortened to be only Friday and Saturday. Don't worry though, there was still lots to do! We served coffee along with a few meals, supervised the goody table at the ordination service reception, and even got to meet with the Superintendent!
Here are some pictures from our Annual Conference adventures.

We ended the weekend with our traditional first staff outing. (For those of you who don't know what it is, we go for pizza and bowling!) I'm not sure how everyone bowled, but I know we all had a pretty great time.

This week we welcomed Challenge Summer Camp to Sky Lodge. We're glad to have them here, and as much as we can tell so far, things seem to be going well. We hope to meet with their leader at the end of the week for a debriefing on the work (hopefully) well done.

All "agents" went through some pretty vigorous training though, including code cracking, voice detection, and scenario training. All passed with flying colors. So, we definitely expect nothing but the best from them.

More updates to come later. In the meantime, please continue to pray for all our agents serving each week, and for the guests who come too. We want everyone here to be able to meet with Jesus in a closer way than before.

For more frequent updates and lots more pictures, please be sure to stop by our Facebook page.

Soli Deo Gloria.

Summer is Here!

As of June 2, the '09 Zone summer has begun.  The entire foreman team is here and is currently in training.  We're only 2 days into it, but we've covered a LOT of stuff.  We sure hope they're keeping up with their sleep. :)

Here are a few pictures from the first couple of days of Foreman training.

Lots of other exciting things are going on.  Tonight our foremen got a taste of what the typical Sunday night activities will be.  Hopefully you crew members reading this will enjoy it like the foremen did.

Finishing touches are being done in the lounge, and I have to say it's shaping up pretty nicely. Before you know it, it will be time for crew to arrive.  Only 8 more days and things will be completely under way.  We can't wait!

For more pictures from foreman training, and just to know what's going on in general, you can check out our facebook page.

Crew, I hope you are as excited to work with these foreman as they are to work with you.  We thank God for helping us put together such a great team for this summer.  I have no doubt these guys and gals will do a great job serving the Lord and high school students in 2009.  Please be in prayer for them as they will be at Sky Lodge all summer.  Be praying for yourselves too, that God will prepare your heart for all He has in store for you in your time in The Zone!

P.S. - Give these foreman a friendly hello or word of encouragement.  Most of them can be found on facebook. :)

T-Shirts!

Summer staff t-shirts have be ordered!  I just wanted to give you a sneak peak at the design.

The example for the front here says Foreman 2009, but the crew ones will look just like it, except it will say Crew 2009 under the glasses.  Foreman shirts will be black, and crew shirts will be dark heather gray.  We're really excited, because we know they are going to look super cool.

By the way, only 15 days until the summer gets kicked off with our foremen arriving.  I can't believe it.  I hope you all are as excited as we are.  See you soon.

Gearing Up

We are one step closer to Summer 2009 in the Zone.

The foreman team for 2009 has been picked and we are excited for the college students who will be an essential part of our ministry this summer.  We will post pictures and some information for them shortly.

Also, the crew acceptance packets have been sent out, so if you haven't received yours yet, keep your eyes open for it!
A note with that though:
Please pay careful attention to the weeks you are working.  Unfortunately we couldn't give everyone all the weeks they wanted, but we want to help you make the most of the weeks that you will be in The Zone!

Please continue in prayer for this summer.  Pray for the program, the crew and foreman, our guest campers, and most importantly that our hearts will be fresh and ready for God to work.
By the way, if you are interested in being a prayer warrior for Zone students, please visit the camp website.

We're looking forward to seeing you all really soon!

In Christ's Service.
